About CompareFibre

CompareFibre is an independent broadband comparison service built to help UK households find faster, cheaper internet. We focus on one thing: matching you with the best broadband deal available at your exact address — whether that's a national brand like BT or Sky, or a local full-fibre altnet like Hyperoptic, Community Fibre, or Brsk.

What We Do

We compare broadband deals from 38+ UK providers, covering everything from budget ADSL packages to 2.5 Gbps symmetrical full fibre. Our postcode checker uses real infrastructure data from Openreach, CityFibre, and individual altnet networks to show you exactly which providers and speeds are available at your property — not just your town or postcode area.

Why We Exist

The UK broadband market is confusing by design. The average household pays £35.90 per month, yet many could get faster full-fibre broadband for less by switching to an altnet. With 78% of UK premises now covered by full fibre (Ofcom, 2025) and gigabit-capable coverage at 87%, most people have more options than they realise. We cut through the jargon and the marketing to show you what's genuinely available.

How We're Different

Unlike traditional comparison sites, CompareFibre does not accept payment from providers for higher placement in our results. Our recommendations are based on speed, price, contract terms, and customer satisfaction data from Ofcom. We highlight providers that offer fixed-price contracts with no mid-contract price rises — something we believe every broadband customer deserves, especially with April 2026 price hikes of up to £4 per month hitting millions of households.

Our Standards

Every deal, speed figure, and price on CompareFibre is verified against provider websites and Ofcom data. We update our listings regularly and clearly label contract terms, setup fees, and annual price increases so there are no surprises. Our guides are written by broadband specialists using publicly available data from Ofcom, ISPreview.co.uk, Thinkbroadband, and Point Topic.
